(a)As used in this Section: "Ambulance assistance vehicle" has the meaning provided under 77 Ill. Adm. Code 515.825 and includes, but is not limited to, fire apparatus and fire department vehicles. "Ambulance assistance vehicle provider" or "provider" means a provider of ambulance assistance vehicles that is licensed under this Act and serves a population within the State.
(b)An ambulance assistance vehicle provider may submit a proposal to the EMS Medical Director requesting approval of an ambulance assistance vehicle provider in-field service level upgrade.
(1)An ambulance assistance vehicle provider may be upgraded, as defined by the EMS Medical Director in a policy or procedure, as long as the EMS Medical Director and the Department have approved the proposal, to the highest level o
