The Department has the power to make grants to EMS Regions, for disbursement in accordance with protocols established in the EMS Region Plans, from moneys deposited into the EMS Assistance Fund and funds appropriated or otherwise made available to the Department, other than funds appropriated to the Illinois Department of Transportation for implementation of the Highway Safety Program.
