1.
a.An individual applying for a license under this chapter shall pass a written
examination, unless exempt pursuant to section 522C.9. The examination shall test the
knowledge of the individual concerning the duties and responsibilities of an adjuster and the
insurance laws and administrative rules of this state, and shall be conducted as prescribed
by the division.
b.An individual who concurrently applies for an adjuster license, and a license as
an appraiser under chapter 522F, may choose to take a joint examination conducted as
prescribed by the division. The joint examination shall test the knowledge of the individual
concerning the duties and responsibilities of an adjuster and of an appraiser, and the
insurance laws and administrative rules of this state. An individual who succes
