Text
ItisthepolicyofthestateofIowatoprotectitsnaturalresourceheritageofair,soils,waters,
and wildlife for the benefit of present and future citizens with the establishment of a resource
enhancement program. The program shall be a long-term integrated effort to wisely use and
protectIowa’snaturalresourcesthroughtheacquisitionandmanagementofpubliclands; the
upgrading of public park and preserve facilities; environmental education, monitoring, and
research; andotherenvironmentallysoundmeans. Theresourceenhancementprogramshall
strongly encourage Iowans to develop a conservation ethic, and to make necessary changes
in our activities to develop and preserve a rich and diverse natural environment.
