Text
1.For the purpose of determining the seniority rights of civil service employees, seniority
shall be computed, beginning with the date of appointment to or employment in any
positions for which they were certified or otherwise qualified and established as provided in
this chapter, but shall not include any period of time exceeding sixty days in any one year
during which they were absent from the service except for disability.
2.In the event that a civil service employee has more than one classification or grade,
the length of the employee’s seniority rights shall date in the respective classifications
or grades from and after the time the employee was appointed to or began employment
in each classification or grade. In the event that an employee has been promoted from
