Text
1.Abackgroundinvestigationmaybeconductedbythedepartmentonallofthefollowing
individuals:
a.An applicant for employment with the department.
b.A contractor, vendor, or employee performing work for the department with access to
federal tax information used for purposes of the department.
2.An individual subject to this section shall authorize the release of the results of all of
the following:
a.A work history.
b.A state criminal history background check.
c.A national criminal history check through the federal bureau of investigation.
3.An individual subject to this section shall provide the individual’s fingerprints to the
department. The department shall request the national criminal history check and shall
provide the individual’s fingerprints to the department of public safety for
