ItisthepolicyofthelegislaturetoprovideforaidindisseminatingamongthepeopleofIowa
useful and practical information on subjects relating to agriculture, home economics, and
community and economic development, and to encourage the application of the information
in the counties of the state through extension work to be carried on in cooperation with Iowa
state university of science and technology and the United States department of agriculture
as provided in the Act of Congress known as the Smith-Lever Act, adopted May 8, 1914, as
amended, 38 Stat. 372 – 374, codified at 7 U.S.C. §341 – 349.
