Text
The department shall administer and enforce the provisions of this chapter and rules adopted by the department pursuant to this chapter. In administering the provisions of this chapter, the department shall have power to do all of the following:
1.Provide for quarantining animals afflicted with an infectious or contagious disease, or
that have been exposed to such disease, whether within or without the state.
2.Determine and employ the most efficient and practical means for the identification and
control of an infectious or contagious disease afflicting animals that may threaten or actually
threatens animals in this state.
3.Establish, maintain, enforce, and regulate quarantine and other measures relating to
the movement and care of animals that may be exposed or afflicted with an infec
