Text
(a)If probable cause exists to make a peace officer believe that an individual will suffer immediate and irreparable physical injury or death if not immediately placed in a health care facility or other emergency shelter, and if that the individual is incapable of giving consent, the peace officer may transport the individual to an appropriate medical facility or emergency shelter.
(b)If a peace officer transports an individual to an appropriate medical facility or emergency shelter under subsection (a) of this section, the peace officer shall immediately or at the beginning of the next working day notify the Department of all of the following:
(1)The transport.
(2)The circumstances which necessitated the transport.
(3)Any other relevant information.
