Text

(a)There is established a Commission for Educational Technology within the Department of Administrative Services. The commission shall consist of the following members or their designees:
(1)The Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management, the Commissioner of Administrative Services, the Commissioner of Education, the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development, the president of The University of Connecticut and the chancellor of the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities, the State Librarian and the Consumer Counsel, (2) one member each representing the Connecticut Conference of Independent Colleges, the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education, the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities, the Connecticut Council of Small Towns, the Connecticut Library Associatio

(a)(2) by adding, as members, representatives of the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities and the Connecticut Council of Small Towns and by removing, as members, representatives of the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents and the Connecticut Educators Computer Association, deleted former Subsec. (a)(3) re secondary and elementary school teachers, redesignated existing Subsec. (a)(4) as Subsec. (a)(3) and amended same by changing “four members who represent business and have expertise in information technology” to “four members who represent business or have expertise in information technology” and changing appointing authorities for such members, added new Subsec. (a)(4) re chief elected official of a municipality, added new Subsec. (a)(5) re representative of small business, added provision re meeting once per quarter and deleted provision re Lieutenant Governor convening meeting on or before September 1, 2000, in Subsec. (a), amended Subsec. (b) by changing provision re election of chairperson by commission to appointment of chairperson by Governor and made technical changes, effective July 1, 2013; P.A. 16-15 amended Subsec.
