(a)Any consumer who elects a remedy available under subdivision (1) of subsection (d) of section 42-331 shall first offer to transfer the assistive technology device to the manufacturer. Not later than thirty business days after the date such offer is made, the manufacturer shall provide the consumer with the refund or the alternative assistive technology device required by said subdivision. Upon receipt of such refund or alternative assistive technology device, the consumer shall, at the manufacturer's expense, return the assistive technology device having the nonconformity to the manufacturer or, if directed by the manufacturer, to a dealer, together with any endorsements necessary to make such transfer.

Upon receipt of such refund or alternative assistive technology device, the consumer shall return the assistive technology device having the nonconformity to the lessor at the lessor's expense. Upon such return, the lessor shall offer to return such assistive technology device to the manufacturer. Not later than thirty business days after the date such offer is made by the lessor, the manufacturer shall reimburse the lessor for any such refund made to the consumer plus any expenses incurred by the lessor in the return of such assistive technology device by the consumer. Upon receipt of such reimbursement, the lessor shall, if directed by the manufacturer and at the manufacturer's expense, return the assistive technology device having the nonconformity to the manufacturer, together with any endorsements necessary to make such transfer.
