Text
The purpose of this section and subdivision (16) of subsection (b) of section 13b-61 is to promote the welfare and prosperity of the people of this state by enabling the state to implement and fund certain transportation-related projects, purposes and strategies in order to:
(1)Improve personal mobility within and through this state;
(2)improve the movement of goods and freight within and through this state;
(3)integrate transportation with economic, land use, environmental and quality of life issues;
(4)develop policies and procedures that will integrate the state economy with regional, national and global economies; and (5) identify policies and sources that provide an adequate and reliable flow of funding necessary for a quality multimodal transportation system.
