(a)For the purposes of this section and section 13b-57, “harbor improvement agency” means any board, commission, agency or department of any municipality designated by the chief executive officer of such municipality and approved by the governing body thereof for the purpose of carrying out a harbor improvement project under this section.
(b)Any municipality may undertake a harbor improvement project, including the development, improvement, construction and installation of berthing areas, channels to berthing areas, sea walls, piers, docks, navigation aids, bridges and other related facilities and structures, pursuant to a harbor improvement plan. Sess. P.A. 15-5 designated existing provisions as Subsecs. (a) to (d), amended Subsec. (d) to replace “Commissioner of Transportation” with “Connecticut Port Authority” and made technical and conforming changes, effective July 1, 2016.
