Text

(1)After December 31, 1953, any roads which are constructed so as to become a part of the state highway system, as defined in this part 1, or any road not on said date a part of the state highway system which may be added thereto shall be constructed or improved in accordance with standards for highway construction as adopted and approved by the commission.
(2)Any roads, streets, or highways constructed after July 1, 1975, by the state or any of its political subdivisions shall provide adequate and reasonable access for the safe and convenient movement of persons with disabilities, including those in wheelchairs, across all newly constructed or replaced curbs at all pedestrian crosswalks; except that this subsection (2) shall not be applicable to any contracts executed or let
