§ 35-55-108 — Investigation - hearing - administrative law judge
(1)The state
board of stock inspection commissioners, upon its own motion on the basis of
reasonable cause or upon the complaint in writing of any person, shall investigate
the activities of any licensed livestock market operator or any person who assumes
to act in such capacity within the state. Based on the findings of such investigation,
the board may initiate proceedings under this article for the discipline of a licensee.
(2)The board shall, through the department of agriculture, employ
administrative law judges appointed pursuant to part 10 of article 30 of title 24,
C.R.S., to conduct hearings for placing a licensee on probation or for revoking or
suspending a license on behalf of the board. The administrative law judges shall
