§ 35-1-102 — Definitions
As used in this article 1, unless the context otherwise requires:
(1)Agriculture means the science and art of production of plants and
animals useful to humans, including, to a variable extent, the preparation of these
products for human use and their disposal by marketing or otherwise, and includes
horticulture, floriculture, viticulture, forestry, dairy, livestock, poultry, bee, and all
forms of farm products and farm production.
(1.5) Repealed.
(2)Commission means the state agricultural commission.
(3)Commissioner means the commissioner of agriculture.
(4)Department means the department of agriculture.
(5)Division means a primary subdivision of the department whose
administrative head is directly responsible to the head of the department.
