As used in this article, unless the context otherwise requires:

(1)Livestock means horses, mules, cattle, burros, swine, sheep, goats, poultry, and alternative livestock as defined in section 35-41.5-102 (1).
(2)Public livestock market means any place, establishment, or facility, commonly known as a livestock market, conducted or operated for compensation or profit as a public livestock market, consisting of pens, or other enclosures, and their appurtenances, in which live horses, mules, cattle, burros, swine, sheep, goats, and poultry are received, held, or assembled for either public or private sale.
