Text

A person who purchases or receives, or has in the person's possession, any livestock, either for the person or for another, shall exhibit, at the reasonable request of any other person, the bill of sale of such livestock if it is in the person's power to do so, or, if it is not in the person's power to do so, the person shall state and give the reason why. A person violating or failing to comply with this section shall be deemed guilty and liable to punishment as provided in section 35-54-102.
