Text
A duly authorized inspector, sheriff,
deputy sheriff, or peace officer may stop and inspect a motor or other vehicle
transporting or containing livestock, or the carcasses of livestock, and demand
from the person operating the motor or other vehicle the exhibition of a bill of sale,
permit, or certificate. If a person who transports or possesses livestock, or the
carcasses of livestock, is unable to exhibit to an inspector or peace officer a bill of
sale, permit, or certificate, the inspector or peace officer may arrest, with or without
warrant, the person, take possession of the motor vehicle or other vehicle and the
livestock or carcasses, and retain such possession until the person operating the
motor vehicle or other vehicle can produce satisfactory evidence that the person, o
