Text
As used in this article, unless the context otherwise requires:
(1)Estray means any bovine animal, horse, mule, ass, or alternative
livestock as defined in section 35-41.5-102 (1) found running at large upon public or
private lands in the state of Colorado whose owner is either known or unknown in
the section where found or which is outside the limits of its usual range or pasture.
It is unlawful for any person, corporation, or company, or any of its employees or
agents, to take into its custody any such estray and retain possession of the same,
except as provided in this article.
