Text

The boundaries of the county of Las Animas are as follows: Commencing at the southeast corner of the county of Pueblo; thence running due west to the Iron Springs; thence westerly along the southern line of Pueblo county, to the dividing ridge between the waters of the Apishapa and Santa Clara rivers; thence southward up the said dividing ridge to the summit of the easterly of the two Spanish peaks; thence westerly along the summit of the mountains to the eastern boundary of the county of Costilla; thence south along said eastern boundary of Costilla county to the southern line of the state; thence east to the southeast corner of the state; thence north to the place of beginning.
