Text
In cases of emergency which could not have been
reasonably foreseen at the time of adoption of the budget, the governing body may
authorize the expenditure of funds in excess of the appropriation by ordinance or
resolution duly adopted by a majority vote of such governing body at a public
meeting. Such ordinance or resolution shall set forth the facts concerning such
emergency and shall be documented in detail in the minutes of the meeting of such
governing body at which such ordinance or resolution was adopted. A certified copy
of such ordinance or resolution shall be filed with the division.
