§ 25-4-1505 — Powers and duties of department and advisory board
(1)The
executive director of the department shall appoint an advisory board which shall
recommend guidelines for the services of the program and such rules and
regulations as may be necessary to effect the purposes of this part 15. Members of
the advisory board shall be persons interested in health care and the promotion of
breast cancer screening drawn from both the private and public sectors. The board
of health shall have the authority to approve recommendations of the advisory
board and the authority to promulgate rules and regulations recommended by the
advisory board.
(2)The department is authorized to accept any grant or award of funds from
the federal government or private sources for the furtherance of the purposes of
