Text
(1)On and after
January 1, 2030, a person shall manage unwanted covered batteries through the
following methods:
(a)Delivery to a collection site, event, or program established by or included
in a battery stewardship program created pursuant to this part 10; and
(b)For covered batteries that are hazardous waste as defined under federal
or state hazardous or solid waste laws, management in a manner consistent with
those laws.
(2)On and after January 1, 2030:
(a)A fee shall not be charged when a loose covered battery is delivered or
collected for management. Nothing in this part 10 prohibits the charging of fees for
battery-containing products.
(b)A person shall collect, transport, and process covered batteries in
accordance with this part 10, unless the covered batteries
