Text
(1)Any infectious waste which has been
appropriately treated at the site of generation by the generator so as to render it
noninfectious shall not thereafter be deemed infectious for purposes of handling or
disposal.
(2)Appropriate treatment shall include any method of treatment which
renders the infectious waste noninfectious. Use of a treatment method
recommended by the United States environmental protection agency, as published
in the EPA Guide for Infectious Waste Management, May 1986, shall be
conclusively presumed to be an appropriate treatment method. Any method of
treatment shall include:
(a)Documentation by the generator that the method of treatment utilized for
his operation is effective in rendering infectious waste noninfectious in such
operation;
