Text
(1)Operation of a hazardous waste disposal site for which a certificate of designation
has been issued shall not begin until the applicant obtains for such operation a
federal permit issued under the federal act or a state permit issued under part 3 of
this article.
(2)A certificate of designation for a hazardous waste disposal site shall not
become effective until such time as the certificated facility has received a permit
under section 3005 (c) of the federal act or the equivalent state permit.
(3)The burial of liquid hazardous waste both on-site and off-site is
prohibited in this state. The commission may develop rules and regulations which
phase out the land disposal of highly mobile, toxic, and persistent waste.
