Text
Any public library established on or
after July 1, 1979, shall be established as provided in this part 1. Every public library
which has been established prior to said date under provisions of state law shall be
considered as established under this part 1, and the board of trustees and the
legislative body of the governmental unit in which the library is located shall
proceed forthwith to make such changes as may be necessary to effect a
compliance with the terms of this part 1. Every contract existing prior to July 1, 1979,
for library service shall continue in force and be subject to this part 1 until the
contract is terminated or a public library is established by the governmental unit for
which the service was engaged.
