(1)Except as otherwise provided in part 1 of this article, the society shall be the trustee
of the state and as such shall faithfully expend and apply all money received from
the state to the uses and purposes directed by law, and shall hold its present and
future collections and property for the state, and shall not sell, mortgage, transfer,
or dispose of in any manner or remove from the Colorado state museum any article
thereof, or part of the same, without authority of law.
(2)Nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent the sale, exchange,
or other disposition of materials held by the society that are determined by the
president and board of directors of the society to be duplicates of other items held
by the society, redundant examples of items of similar type he
