Text
Whenever a copy of any
public record is required by the United States veterans administration or its
successors or any other agency of the government of the United States to be used
in determining the eligibility of any person who has served in the armed forces of
the United States or any dependent of such person to participate in benefits for
such person made available by the laws of the United States in relation to such
service in the armed forces of the United States, the official charged with the
custody of such public records, without charge, shall provide the applicant for such
benefits or any person acting on his behalf, or the representative of such bureau or
other agency, with a certified copy of such record.
