Text
(1)Pursuant to authorization contained
in Title IV-E and Title XIX of the federal Social Security Act, as amended, the
department of human services is hereby authorized to develop, participate in the
development of, negotiate for, and enter into one or more interstate compacts on
behalf of the state of Colorado with other states to implement the following
purposes:
(a)The protection of children on behalf of whom adoption subsidy payments
are being provided by the department of human services pursuant to article 7 of
title 26, C.R.S.;
(b)The implementation of procedures for interstate payments in
subsidization of adoption, including medical payments.
(2)When so entered into by the department of human services, any such
compact shall have the force and effect of a law for so
