§ 24-60-2204 — Definitions
As used in sections 24-60-2205 to 24-60-2212, unless the context otherwise requires:
(1)Department means the department of public health and environment.
(2)Facility means a low-level radioactive waste facility capable of serving
as a regional disposal or management site for low-level radioactive waste and
which complies with the provisions of the Rocky Mountain Low-level Radioactive
Waste Compact set forth in section 24-60-2202.
(3)Low-level radioactive waste means radioactive waste, other than:
(a)Waste generated as a result of defense activities of the federal
government or federal research and development activities;
(b)High-level waste such as irradiated reactor fuel, liquid waste from
reprocessing irradiated reactor fuel, or solids into which any such liquid waste has
