§ 24-51-507 — Uniformed service credit
(1)A member shall be granted
additional service credit for uniformed service, as defined for reemployment right
purposes under federal law, if:
(a)Such member had membership in the association at the time the
uniformed service began;
(b)Such member was discharged from uniformed service and returned from
the leave of absence for uniformed service to membership;
(c)The period of uniformed service is verified and is not already covered by
association service credit upon return from uniformed service to membership; and
(d)All service credit forfeited by a refund pursuant to the provisions of
section 24-51-405 is purchased.
(2)Uniformed service credit shall be limited to a maximum of five years.
(3)Death or any disability arising from uniformed service shall be excluded
