Text
(1)The principal function
of the treasury department is to receive all state moneys collected by or otherwise
coming into the hands of any officer, department, institution, or agency of the state
government as required in section 24-36-103 (1) and to deposit and disburse the
same in the manner prescribed by law. It shall have no tax collection or
enforcement functions whatsoever.
(2)Employees of the treasury department shall be appointed pursuant to the
provisions of section 24-2-102, except for one deputy permitted by law, who shall
be appointed by the state treasurer.
