(1)There
is hereby created in the state treasury the community policing program cash fund.
The moneys in the fund shall be subject to annual appropriation by the general
assembly to award grants to local law enforcement agencies and for the direct and
indirect costs associated with the implementation of this part 6. The division of
criminal justice is authorized to accept on behalf of the state any grants, gifts, or
donations from any private or public source for the purpose of this part 6 pursuant
to section 24-33.5-503 (1)(e). All private and public funds received through grants,
gifts, or donations shall be transmitted to the state treasurer, who shall credit the
same to the fund. All investment earnings derived from the deposit and investment
of moneys in the fund shall rema
