Text

(1)Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, the members of the Colorado state patrol shall be required to give bond to the state in the amount indicated in this section, to be approved and paid for by the state. The bonds shall be issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the state in the following amounts:
(a)Chief, fifty thousand dollars;
(b)All commissioned officers, thirty thousand dollars;
(c)All noncommissioned officers, ten thousand dollars;
(d)All troopers, five thousand dollars.
(2)A member of the Colorado state patrol is not required to give the bond otherwise required by subsection (1) of this section if the Colorado state patrol is self-insured through the Colorado state office of risk management and is eligible to be compensated pur
