§ 24-30-2303 — Office of sustainability - creation - duties
(1)The office of
sustainability is hereby created in the department. The office is a type 2 entity, as
defined in section 24-1-105, and exercises its powers and performs its duties and
functions under the department. The office shall work with state agencies to
implement sustainable practices.
(2)The powers, duties, and functions of the office include:
(a)Providing leadership to and requiring accountability from state agencies
regarding ongoing sustainability initiatives;
(b)Developing baseline metrics and goals for the reduction of negative
environmental impacts and tracking state agencies' performance toward achieving
those goals;
(c)Tracking the amount of money the state saves as a result of
implementing sustainable practices;
(d)Seeking and applying for federal fundi
