Text

A.Except for adoptions pursuant to title 8, chapter 1 and guardianships pursuant to title 14, chapter 5, a person shall not sell or offer to sell a child for money or other valuable consideration and shall not purchase or offer to purchase a child in exchange for money or other valuable consideration.
B.A person who violates this section is guilty of a class 5 felony and the person is not eligible for suspension of sentence, probation, pardon or release from confinement on any basis except as specifically authorized by section 31-233, subsection A or B until the sentence imposed by the court has been served or commuted.
