Text

(a)The purpose of this subchapter is to:
(1)Recognize industrial hemp as an agricultural product;
(2)Recognize the cultivation, processing, and transportation of industrial hemp as an agricultural activity in this state; and (3) Ensure that this state has primary regulatory authority over the production of industrial hemp in this state.
(b)This subchapter shall not be construed to grant the Department of Agriculture the authority to regulate hemp processing practices or methodologies.
