§ 17-26-412 — School term - Cosmetology curriculum

(a) Each school shall maintain a school term of not less than one thousand five hundred (1,500) hours, instruction of which shall not be in excess of ten (10) hours per day and six (6) days per week during the course. The school shall maintain a course of practical training and technical instruction equal to the requirements for examination for a license as a cosmetologist. (b) It shall so arrange the courses devoted to each branch or practice of cosmetology as the Department of Health may from time to time adopt as the course to be followed by the schools. (c) The curriculum described in this section may be completed through supervisory learning in a classroom, online, or on a distance education platform for up to fifty percent (50%) of the student's training program as authorized by the United States Department of Education as existed on January 1, 2021.
