§ 17-107-305 — Temporary permits

(a) (1) The Arkansas Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics Advisory Board may issue a temporary permit to practice orthotics, prosthetics, or pedorthics to a qualified applicant who has: (A) Satisfactorily completed an approved education program in the field in which the individual is seeking licensure; and (B) Applied for or is awaiting results of the first examination he or she is eligible to take after the permit is issued. (2) The temporary permit to practice orthotics, prosthetics, or pedorthics becomes invalid upon notification to the applicant of the results of the first examination he or she is eligible to take after the permit is issued. (3) (A) A temporary permit issued under this subsection is valid for no more than six (6) months. (B) No more than two (2) temporary permits shall be issued to any individual within a specific category. (b) (1) The board may issue a temporary permit to practice orthotics, prosthetics, or pedorthics to a qualified applicant awaiting endorsement and holding a current license to practice orthotics, prosthetics, or pedorthics, or the equivalent, from another jurisdiction, state, or territory. (2) The temporary permit to practice orthotics, prosthetics, or pedorthics shall: (A) Specify the date it was issued and its expiration date; and (B) Not be valid for more than six (6) months.
