Text

(a)(1) The Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology shall contract with an outside investigator as needed to perform investigations and conduct inspections of alleged wrongdoing.
(2)An outside investigator contacted under subdivision (a)(1) of this section shall have expertise or background in the subject matter in which he or she is being contracted to investigate.
(b)The duties of an investigator hired under this section shall include without limitation investigation and inspection of all complaints, as determined by the board, to determine whether a person has:
(1)Practiced his or her profession in such a way as to endanger the general health and welfare of the public; or (2) Otherwise violated this chapter or rules of the board.
