Text
Upon the resignation or removal from office of any county
treasurer, all books, papers and monies belonging to his office
shall be delivered to his successor upon the oath of the
preceding treasurer or, in case of his death, upon the oath of
his executors or administrators. If any preceding treasurer or
his executors or administrators neglect or refuse to deliver
such books, papers and monies, on oath, when lawfully demanded,
such person shall forfeit a sum of not less than one hundred
dollars ($100.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00),
and is liable upon his official bond for such refusal or
neglect.
