Text
(a)A district may change its name from the name given it
in the formation order of the county commissioners, or from the
name under which it was otherwise organized, to a name chosen by
resolution of a majority of the directors.
(b)The directors shall not adopt a resolution for a
district name change without publishing notice once of the
proposed name change in a newspaper of general circulation in
the county.
(c)All powers, rights, duties and obligations of a
district which has adopted a new name shall be continued under
the new name. All references to the prior name of the district
shall be considered references to the new name.
(d)A district changing its name shall immediately notify
the secretary of state if the principal act requires that
formation documents be filed with the secr
