Text
(a)An individual or other person on his behalf may apply
in writing for public assistance and social services under this
article to the field office of the department located within the
county or region in which the individual resides. A relative or
other person interested in the welfare of a dependent child and
his family may apply for the child. Application shall be upon a
form and in a manner prescribed by rule and regulation of the
department.
(b)Upon receipt of an application under subsection (a) of
this section, the department shall investigate the facts stated
in the application and obtain necessary information to determine
eligibility for public assistance and social services.
