(a)Each licensee is subject to a periodic examination of the licensee’s business records by the commissioner at the expense of the licensee. For the purpose of carrying out this article, the commissioner may examine all books, records, papers, or other objects that the commissioner determines are necessary for conducting a complete examination and may also examine under oath any person associated with the license holder, including an officer, director, or employee of the licensee or authorized delegate. Unless it will interfere with the commissioner’s duties under this article, reasonable notice shall be given to the licensee and any authorized delegate before any on-site examination visit.
