§ 18A-3-8 — County professional staff development councils

West Virginia·Ch. 18A SCHOOL PERSONNEL·Art. 3 TRAINING, CERTIFICATION, LICENSING, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The Legislature finds the professional expertise and insight of the classroom teacher to be an invaluable ingredient in the development and delivery of staff development programs which meet the needs of classroom teachers. Therefore, a professional staff development council comprised of proportional representation from the major school levels and from vocational, special education and other specialties in proportion to their employment numbers in the county shall be established in each school district in the state in accordance with rules adopted by the State Board of Education. Nominations of instructional personnel to serve on the county staff development council may be submitted by the faculty senates of the district to the county superintendent who shall prepare and distribute ballots
