878.11 All moneys recovered on any judgment in favor of the judge of the court shall be paid over to the person, other than the defendant therein, who is then the rightful personal representative, special administrator, guardian or trustee, and the moneys shall be assets in the person’s hands to be administered according to law. If there is no personal representative, special administrator, guardian or trustee, other than the defendant, the moneys shall be paid to the persons entitled thereto upon their giving receipts which shall be filed with the court.
