171.065 If the owner of property sold under this chapter or the owner’s legal representatives, at any time within 5 years after proceeds from the sale have been deposited in the county treasury, furnishes satisfactory evidence to the treasurer of the ownership of the property, the owner or the owner’s legal representatives shall be entitled to receive the amount of the proceeds deposited with the treasurer. If the owner or the owner’s legal representatives do not claim the sale proceeds within the 5-year period, the proceeds shall belong to the county.
