Text

(a)Health maintenance organizations may:
(1)Buy, sell, lease, encumber, construct, renovate, operate, or maintain hospitals, health care clinics, other health care facilities, and other real and personal property that is incidental to and reasonably necessary for the transaction of the business and for the accomplishment of the purposes of the organization if a certificate of need is obtained in accordance with 18 V.S.A. chapter 221.
(2)Furnish health care services through providers employed by or under contract with the organization. No new health care project shall be offered without first obtaining a certificate of need in accordance with 18 V.S.A. chapter 221.
