Sec. 1045.053. QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE.
(a)To be eligible to be a candidate for an elected position or to serve as an elected or appointed director, a person must be:
(1)a district resident; and
(2)a qualified voter.
(b)A person who is elected from a commissioner precinct or who is appointed to fill a vacancy for a commissioner precinct must be a resident of that commissioner precinct.
(c)A district employee may not serve as a director.
